On 25 January, the FHV, in cooperation with the Federation of Jewish Communities of the Czech Republic, organised a traditional commemorative event on the occasion of the Holocaust Remembrance Day and the Day of Prevention of Inhumanne Crimes on the premises of the Senate of the Czech Parliament. The event was hosted by Jaroslav Kubera, the President of the Senate. Members of both chambers of the Parliament gave speeches and many other followed – Jiri Fiser, a former prisoner of the Nazi extermination camp in Auschwitz-Birkenau, Monika Mihalickova gave a speech for Roma minority, an EU commissioner, Vera Jourova, the chairman of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic and Petr Papousek. The organizers also read the greetings of the Czech Prime Minister. The event was visited by tens of Shoa survivors, Lauder school students, the representatives of various authorities, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tomas Petricek, ambassadors, Prague Archbishop, rabbi Sidon and the chairmen of the Jewish Communities.
