Joint Statement by the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board of the Foundation for Holocaust Victims on the Hamas Terrorist Attack in Israel
The Foundation for Holocaust Victims supports survivors of racial persecution by the Nazi regime. It commemorates the victims of the Holocaust and promotes the preservation of historical memory. Its activities also seek to overcome xenophobia and racism.
We were appalled to see the horrific attack by Hamas terrorists against the Israeli people, which was carried out with extreme cruelty and barbarity against children, women, and the elderly, including Holocaust survivors.
The Foundation for Holocaust Victims:
It condemns the terrorist attack by Hamas against a defenceless population.
It expresses its full solidarity with the citizens of Israel.
It supports the steps taken by the Israeli government to free the kidnapped citizens and to punish all those involved in the preparation, planning and execution of this barbaric terrorist attack.
It disapproves of the relativisation of Hamas crimes and attempts to justify or even excuse them by the policies of the Israeli state.
It thanks the Government of the Czech Republic for its support of Israel and the citizens of the Czech Republic who selflessly provide financial, material and moral assistance to the victims of the terrorist attack.
