On September 7, 2023, we hosted a benefit concert newly combined with the celebration of the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah. The event took place at the Winternitz Villa, where guests enjoyed guided tours alongside the musical program.
The evening was hosted once again by Ester Janečková. Opening remarks were delivered by Michal Klíma, Chairman of the NFOH Board of Directors, Marta Malá, Executive Director of the NFOH, Petr Papoušek, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, and David Cysař, Director of the Winternitz Villa. Chief Land Rabbi Karol Efraim Sidon spoke on the significance of Rosh Hashanah.

A varied musical program was provided by Naches Trio, the Ukrainian-Jewish choir Naděje (Hope), and the Prague Yiddish Band. The evening also featured a traditional raffle. The acclaimed artist Mark Podwal generously donated a wonderful painting for the benefit’s key visual.
To mark the occasion, we launched the New Year’s Fundraising Campaign in support of care for Holocaust survivors, which raised a wonderful total of 100,454 CZK.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors and attendees for creating a wonderful atmosphere. Special thanks go to Kristýna and David Cysař for their warm welcome and cooperation, as well as to our partners for their support: the Prague City Hall, the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, Conseq Investment Management, České vinařství Chrámce, mamacoffee, and the Jewish Museum in Prague.
