On September 3, 2026, we hosted another beneficiary concert at the Klaus Synagogue, once again combined with the celebration of the upcoming Jewish New Year.
Opening remarks were delivered by Board Member Markéta Munková and NFOH Director Marta Malá, followed by Pavla Niklová, Director of the Jewish Museum in Prague, which is celebrating the 120th anniversary of its founding this year. The New Year’s address was given by Chief Land Rabbi Karol Efraim Sidon, while Petr Papoušek, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, greeted the attendees and blew the shofar at the end of the program.
Alongside the traditional simanim (symbols of the New Year), attendees had the opportunity to purchase various sweet and savory delicacies provided by mamacoffee and the Shalom Restaurant, or refresh themselves with Italian kosher wine or Jebrewsalem beer.
Special thanks go to the klezmer bands Mi Martef and Naches Trio, who accompanied the entire evening with wonderful live music.
We extend our gratitude to everyone who contributed—whether in person at the event or by donating to our public collection account. The New Year’s benefit raised a total of 71,060 CZK, which will be dedicated to providing essential care for Holocaust survivors.
We would like to thank the Prague City Hall, the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, and the Jewish Museum in Prague for their cooperation and support of the benefit evening. Many thanks also to Karel Cudlín for donating the main prizes for the raffle.
Thank you to all who attended for creating such a wonderful atmosphere! Photos from the benefit can be viewed in our photo gallery. We look forward to seeing you again next year. Shana tova u-metuka!
