On the second Thursday of November, the Foundation for Holocaust Victims hosted its traditional benefit event. This year’s benefit evening was held in the traditional spirit of trusted formats—as in previous years, the concert took place at Baráčnická rychta, was hosted by Ester Janečková, and featured live Romani music popular among our friends and collaborators, performed this time by the bands Devles and Gypsy Spirit featuring renowned violinist Vojta Lavička.
This year’s concert was once again a welcome opportunity to thank the donors and partners who support our activities and to gather in a relaxed atmosphere with friends of the NFOH and representatives of our partner organizations.
At the beginning of the concert, Michal Borges, Chairman of the NFOH Board of Directors, delivered an opening address. He emphasized the dangers of indifference in society and expressed gratitude to all who, through their actions or financial support, help alleviate the difficult fates of others. Following his remarks, NFOH representatives presented the results of the Foundation’s work over the past year and the milestones achieved in our activities. The remainder of the evening was dedicated to live music, singing, and dancing on a continuously full dance floor.
We would like to express our gratitude to the sponsors and partners of our benefit: Association for the Úštěk Synagogue and Cemetery, ČSOB Asset Management, Baráčnická rychta, Bio-Kosher-Wine.cz, České vinařství Chrámce, Ciderie, Cimes deli, EL AL Israel Airlines, Jewish e-shop, King Solomon, mamacoffee, the Town of Loštice, Respekt a tolerance o.s., Rudolf Jelínek, and the Jewish Community of Olomouc.
The proceeds of 21,000 CZK were used to support the Hospice and Relief Services project of Cesta domů.
