The 2013 Benefit Concert was a blend of trusted traditions and dynamic new experiences. After four years, we returned to Baráčnická rychta, which had undergone a significant transformation under new ownership. Following the previous year’s jazz theme, we selected an evening dedicated entirely to Romani music, inviting the bands Imperio and Terne Čave to the stage. As in previous years, the evening was hosted by Ester Janečková. In addition to our traditional rich raffle filled with kosher food, beverages, and books on Jewish topics, we were able to include two round-trip airline tickets to Tel Aviv thanks to our sponsor EL AL Israel Airlines.
This year’s benefit concert was exceptionally successful—tickets sold out a full month before the event, requiring us to expand the hall’s seating capacity. The evening itself was relaxed yet filled with lively dancing and joy. Captivated by the music, few remained seated, with guests dancing even in the aisles between tables. We were deeply moved that several guests described the concert as ‘the best in NFOH history.’
The proceeds from this year’s concert totaled 32,780 CZK. We would like to express our gratitude to ČSOB Asset Management, the main financial partner of the concert, as well as to EL AL Israel Airlines for donating two tickets to Israel for the raffle. Our thanks also go to all other raffle donors: České vinařství Chrámce, mamacoffee, the Jewish Museum in Prague, the Jewish Community of Prague, the Jewish Community of Olomouc, the Town of Loštice, Rudolf Jelínek, King Solomon, Dinitz, Ciderie, the family distillery Žešovská pálenice, and Respekt a tolerance o.s. Our sincere thanks extend to the volunteers—Alena, Petr, Tereza, Ester, and Anička—who assisted greatly with event logistics. Finally, we thank all concert guests and friends for their continued support, dedication, and presence. We look forward to meeting again at next year’s NFOH benefit!
