On December 6, 2018, we hosted our traditional Hanukkah benefit at Café Jedna, welcoming around 200 participants across all generations.
The festive evening was hosted once again by Ester Janečková. Opening remarks were delivered by Michal Klíma, Chairman of the NFOH Board of Directors, and Marta Malá, Executive Director of the NFOH, followed by Petr Papoušek, President of the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, and Daniel Kolský, co-owner of mamacoffee. The Hanukkah candles were lit together with the attendees by Chief Land Rabbi Karol Efraim Sidon.

A wonderful musical atmosphere was provided by the Mackie Messer Klezmer Band. The evening also featured a traditional raffle and a varied children’s program organized by madrichim under the leadership of Ben Hess.
Thanks to the generosity of visitors and donors, the benefit raised 45,458 CZK, which will be used in 2019 to support care provided by the Jewish Community in Karlovy Vary.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all sponsors and partners for their support and for their donations to the raffle: ČSOB AM, Conseq Investment Management, České vinařství Chrámce, Jewish e-shop, Becalel and P3K publishing houses, mamacoffee, EL AL Airlines, and the Jewish Museum in Prague. The project was organized with the support of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee and the Foundation of the Jewish Community in Prague.
We thank all our guests for the warm atmosphere and look forward to future gatherings!
