Jewish Museum in Prague would like to invite you to an interesting lecture that will be held in an OVK Auditorium (15 Maiselova Street, Prague 1) on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at 6pm.
We are delighted to host Ann Rothstein-Segan introducing us to a 50-year photography career of her father, a well-known American photographer, Arthur Rothstein (1915-1985). In his career he took several iconic pictures capturing a long period of American history starting from The Great Depression in 1930s to Reagan´s presidency of the 1980s.
Ann Rothstein-Segan will focus on a remarkable sequence of events when her father shot a series of photographs he then lost to found them again later, a series featuring the life of a communicty of Jewish refugees stranded in Shanghai, China after WWII. The lecture will be part of a supporting programme to an exhibition called “Trosečníky v Šanghaji – Castaways in Shanghai“which could be visited from May to September 2016 in Robert Guttmann Gallery.
The lecture will be held in English. Entrance is free.
