It is with a deep sadness and sorrow that we have received the news that on Sunday, 8 November 2020, Ms. Dora Pešková passed away. Ms. Dora came from Karlovy Vary. During the Shoah she went through the Terezín ghetto, Auschwitz-Birkenau, Hamburg and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps. She survived along with her sister Gita. To her last ounce of strength, she told her story and passed it on to the next generations: “I often lectured to students, I wanted to give them an example. I wanted them to learn their lesson and not be lured. It is up to them not to allow the history repeat itself. They have to think and they should not believe the populistic promises. “We will not celebrate her 100th birthday together, but we will still remember her. May her soul be bound in the bundle of life. We would like to thank the Memory of Nations for having recorded her story: https://www.pametnaroda.cz/cs/peskova-rozena-steinova-dora-1921
