On March 31, 2025, we organized this year’s first accredited seminar for social workers in Jewish communities across the Czech Republic. The topic “Basic Medical Knowledge for Field and Outpatient Care Workers – Knowledge, Experience, Intuition” was presented to the participants by Mgr. Marie Jarošová from the Association of Social Care Providers of the Czech Republic.
Together with the lecturer, participants focused on aging and the changes that senior age brings. They discussed the most common geriatric diseases and health complications encountered in practice, as well as how to respond to them correctly and in a timely manner. They also tried working with basic medical devices that clients commonly use at home and devoted significant time to prevention and early detection of health problems.
We would like to thank the Public Benefit Association for the Support of Holocaust Survivors for their financial contribution and the Jewish Museum in Prague for providing their venue.
