“Živá paměť, o.p.s.” invites you to the Kladno City Library on Tuesday, 2 May 2023 at 5 p.m. for the opening of a travelling exhibition of portrait photographs called: The Fate of the Roma during the Second World War. The photographs represent the powerful stories of Romani survivors living in the Czech Republic who were victims of racial persecution during World War II. The portraits were taken by photographer Jana Stachová and the exhibition is free to view until 30 June 2023.
Before the opening on 2 May 2023, an accompanying lecture by Mgr. Michal Schuster on the topic: History of the Roma and their persecution during World War II will take place. Participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the history of the Roma in interwar Czechoslovakia, and especially about their tragic fate during World War II. Admission to the lecture and the opening is free and registration is not required.
