For the second time in a row, on 21 May 2019, the social workers from Jewish communities and associated organization had an opportunity to participate in a lecture lead by an art therapist and professional from Jewish Care London, Mr. Moshe Teller. The morning lecture topic was “Survivors and Their Mental Health“. The participants actively discussed the manifestations of trauma in everyday life; behavior of survivors and the consequences the Shoa has had on the people around them. The afternoon lecture had a title “Daddy, I don’t feel well today …“. In that part Moshe Teller focused on the transfer of trauma, hierarchy of suffering, on the unwanted, unconscious replicating of certain types of behavior of survivor’s children and how the second generation is influenced by the negative experience of their parents.
We would like to thank to American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, Federation of Jewish Communities of the Czech Republic, the Claims Conference, and Community Service Supporting the People Affected by Holocaust and to Jewish Museum in Prague.
