On November 12, 2025, we organized a seminar for social workers from Jewish communities across the Czech Republic titled “Who Cares for the Caregivers?” featuring Dr. Sandi Mann.
Dr. Sandi Mann is an accredited academic psychologist with clinical experience in the UK. She also lectures in Applied Psychology at the University of Central Lancashire. Author of over 25 books on psychology, she lectures globally and regularly appears in the media as an expert in her field.

The morning session focused on the impact of burnout and compassion fatigue on professionals in helping professions. Participants had the opportunity to reflect on the vital importance of self-care, particularly in their profession. The afternoon session took the form of a workshop centered on practical skills for boosting mental resilience and cultivating self-kindness and self-compassion.
We were very pleased with the great turnout and the many positive responses.
Our thanks go to our partners—the Federation of Jewish Communities in the Czech Republic, the Claims Conference, and the Public Benefit Society for the Support of Persons Affected by the Holocaust—for their financial support, as well as the Department for Education and Culture at the Jewish Museum in Prague for generously providing the venue free of charge.
